It seems like Tom Hardy's new gig is going pretty smoothly.
On Thursday, Variety announced that the Mad Max actor's upcoming project Taboo now has a director. Kristoffer Nyholm will be directing the first half of the eight-part event series starring Hardy.
The actor will play a man in London who is trying to build a shipping empire and avenging his father's death in the 19th century.
Nyholm's previous credits include The Enfield Haunting, Death of a Pilgrim and The Killing.
Hardy became the new action star with his memorable role in Mad Max: Fury Road alongisde Charlize Theron. Last May, the actor spoke with Collider about the film and what it was like filming in Namibia.
"If you're logistically trying to create an X amount of hundred million dollar movie, and you're that far away from Australia which your home base is, Namibia is right in the middle of both of those places in the middle of the desert and it could be hard to get anything to and from that place and all that crap," Hardy said.
The 38-year-old also pointed out how cautious filming had to be due to the massive action in the movie.
"Every day was a big day for stunts and you knew that something could inevitably go wrong at any given time, so a lot of care was taken to avoid any of this," he said.
