Jax Taylor claims his Hawaii arrest was one big misunderstanding.

Over the weekend, while attending the launch of Katie Maloney's Pucker and Pout blog, the Vanderpump Rules star spoke out for the first time, claiming he is an innocent man when it comes to felony theft allegations.

"Oh, 100 percent," Taylor told TMZ after they asked him if his arrest was "just a misunderstanding."

Taylor was arrested in Hawaii last month after he reportedly stole a pair of pricey Polaris sunglasses from a store in Honolulu. Although Taylor claims he was not at fault during the incident, video surveillance of his alleged crime appears to prove otherwise. In a clip shared by TMZ days after the reported theft occurred, Taylor was seen walking out of the store with the sunglasses in question -- and he hadn't paid for a thing.

Once he arrived back to his hotel, where he and the rest of the Vanderpump Rules cast (as well as his new girlfriend, Brittany Cartwright) were staying for a group trip to celebrate his birthday, he was arrested.

As TMZ continued to question Taylor about his arrest, the reality star got quiet, claiming he can't say much about the ongoing case. He did, however, announce plans to return to Hawaii.

"I'm an avid surfer now," he explained.

Vanderpump Rules is expected to return to Bravo for season four later this year.
