Jamie's Outlander trauma will force Claire to face the burden on pregnancy on her own.

The time traveling couple will be together in Paris, but moving away from the Black Jack (Tobias Mezies) incident will leave Claire (Caitriona Balfe) feeling more alone than she may like.

"Claire is dealing with her pregnancy and [wondering], how do you support someone going through a trauma like [Jamie's]?" Balfe told to Blastr, explaining that it will be Jamie's mission to change history that will get him out of bed every morning as season 2 kicks off.

Unfortunately, Jamie's (Sam Heughan) healing process will leave him distant or some time. The pair will need to find a way to communicate again - we have no doubt that they will - but in the meantime, the 20th century nurse will feel the need to keep her fears of motherhood to her self.

"In a way she sacrificed herself a little bit because she's dealing with her pregnancy on her own in a way," Balfe teased.

We have every faith in the unlikely couple, however, and so does author author Diana Gabaldon.

"[Jamie] does talk to Claire. He is sort of an emotionally open person, he always has been," Gabaldon assured fans at San Diego Comic Con, according to TV Goodness. "While this naturally traumatized him, he still depends on Claire. She's basically his only lifeline."
