  • Falling Skies' Second Mass holds too much faith in humanity.

Weaver (Will Patton) and Mason's (Noah Wyle) survivors will stumble upon a functional military base in "Everybody Has Their Reasons" and a warm welcome will quickly turn into a firestorm. Despite Weaver's previous intimate relations with the base's leader, Ben's (Connor Jessup) controversial spikes might the spark that ignites a dangerous confrontation.

"We arrive at this military base and things don't go very well," Jessup told Three If By Space (see full interview here). "As we've seen in the past the second mass has seen a lot of fear towards Ben and people like him from people outside of the Second Mass...Is it more isolated and towards Ben? OR is it a broader issue towards an entire group?"

Considering Hal (Drew Roy), Ben, and Anne (Moon Bloodgood) will soon pass under the shadow of the American flag as they step in front of a fire squad, it sounds as if it will be a little of both.

Scroll through the rest of the slid show to see what's in store for the Second Mass in episode 5's seventh episode.

Falling Skies airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TNT.
  • Tom and Matt have a moment of piece after arriving at the military base. School doesn't really feature in Matt's life, but it seems like the professor has found a teachable moment as they sit in relative safety.
  • Tom and Anne take a moment to their selves in "Everybody Has Their Reasons." Recently, Anne has started to put Lexi's death behind here while Tom has found a renewed vision to drive his battle.
  • Weaver will reunite with an old flame in "Everybody Has Their Reasons." Little is known about Captain Katie Marshall, but it's safe to say she is probably hiding her real agenda.
  • Captain Katie Marshall and Weaver reunite over possibly the best meal the Second Mass has had in quite some time.
  • Hal and Maggie appear to be back together in "Everybody Has Their Reasons." Their new host, however, doesn't seem like the calmest soldier.
  • Hal and the younger members of the Second Mass share a drink with their new acquaintances in "Everybody Has Their Reasons." Will these be the same soldiers that will place Hal in front of a firing squad before seasons end?
  • Not everyone is a fan of Ben's spikes. While the teen has faced scrutiny for the last five seasons, his recent spat with Maggie may have him more on edge than normal.
  • No spikes, no problems. If only that were true. Maggie ditched the Espheni's harness in "Respite," and although she now has full control of her body, the Second Mass may soon miss her super strength.
  • Hal chats with his new friend from the Pope incident. Come on Hal, keep it platonic.
  • Anne does not look particularly pleased in "Everybody Has Their Reasons." Could this be residual annoyance from Maggie's betrayal?
