A top executive from CBS has finally addressed the season 6 finale scene of The Good Wife that had critics and fans up in arms.

Will Peter Run For President In Season 7?

At a Television Critics Association event on Aug. 10, CBS Chairman Nina Tassler talke about the scene which used CGI to splice Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) into one frame. The two actresses weren't physically present to enact the scene with each other in the same room. A lot of critics thought it was very unprofessional of the actresses, to not be able to work together for a very crucial scene in the series. There had also been rumors of a long-running feud between Alicia and Kalinda which might have been why they had to resort to such tactics. US Weekly reported from the TCA event and got Tassler's comments.

Tassler dismissed all the criticism and relented full support the showrunners' decision regarding the execution of the scene.

Showrunners Dish About Kalinda's Replacement In Season 7

"I'm not gonna reveal movie magic," she said. "Bottom line is, the ending of the show was a very satisfying ending for the relationship between those two characters. I stand behind how Robert and Michelle King produced their show."

In May this year, E!Online posed the same question to Panjabi. Panjabi was very professional in her response to the pop culture website and didn't abet the rumors about her rift with Margulies. "All I can say is this: the decision-making process is not something I'm privy to," she said.

The finale, entitled 'Wanna Partner?' aired on CBS on May 10.
