Tami Roman of VH1’s Basketball Wives LA is defending herself against critics as she gets pretty serious with her boyfriend without planning wedding bells right now.

Roman spoke with Christian Post Friday, and said that she has even been labeled as a bad mother as she and Reggie Youngblood co-habitat.

“I just wanted to touch on that and say the word has no specifics on marriage. What I mean by that is there is nothing in the word that says two people need to be legally married for there to be a covenant between them and God and share a union.”

She added that while she and Youngblood haven’t had an official and legal wedding ceremony, they “made a conscious decision to live s a married unit.”

Youngblood and Roman recently suffered a tragic miscarriage. Just weeks after announcing her pregnancy, Roman had to let fans know the child did not make it the full term. She actually found out about the miscarriage on her late mother, Nadine Buford’s birthday. Buford passed away after a battle with cancer.

Roman said, “I just viewed it as ‘OK, it’s not the time,’ and asked for renewal and strength to be able to just move on, press on and knowing that this wasn’t the time for that particular moment because God knows what He has planned for me and I just have to trust in Him and not lean on my own understanding. If it’s meant for me and Reggie to have a child, then that moment will present itself again.”
