Taylor Swift turned 23 on Thursday and celebrated by releasing her 23rd music video - a new "punk rock style" clip for her hit song "I Knew You Were Trouble."

The rumored girlfriend of One Direction's Harry Styles will premiere her new music video on MTV at 4:40 p.m. ET. In a teaser for the clip, which features "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" star Reeve Carney as the singer's love interest, Swift told MTV that the video will follow the corruption of an innocent girl who gets involved in a complicated and twisted relationship.

"We've been all over the place, just kind of building the story of these two people who have this really epic, really toxic relationship," she explained. "This video is edgy because the narrative of it is edgy. The song sounds different than anything else I've ever done before, so I thought why not make this video unlike anything we've done before."

The video takes Swift's character through a journey and the singer said that things turn toward the dark side as the video progresses. A seemingly "good girl" goes about her life but then gets corrupted after she meets a guy she likes, and who she is willing to change her entire life for.

"This guy is just like a force," she said. "She'll do anything to fit into his world, including change everything about herself."

2012 has been a big year for the country singer. She received her first Golden Globe nomination this week for her song "Safe and Sound" on "The Hunger Games" soundtrack. Other artists in the category are Adele ("Skyfall"), Keith Urban ("For You), Jon Bon Jovi ("Not Running Anymore), and Claude-Michel Schoneber and Alain Boubil for their "Les Miserables" score "Suddenly."

She sold 1.2 million copies of her latest album "Red," in the first week of its release and became the second-highest paid woman in music, pulling in $57 million last year, according to Forbes. Britney Spears topped the list with $58 million after her latest album, "Femme Fatale," earned platinum certification in the United States.
