Kelly Clarkson announced her engagement to talent manager Brandon Blackstock on her Twitter account Saturday.

The pop singer, who won the first season of "American Idol," has been dating Blackstock since early this year, she revealed in a November appearance on the "Ellen DeGeneres Show." Blackstock is the stepson of country singer Reba McEntire.

"I'M ENGAGED!" Clarkson said on Twitter. "I wanted y'all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night!  I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever :)"

Thge 30-year-old also posted a link to a photo of her canary yellow diamond engagement ring. She wrote that her fiance helped design it and that she "can't wait to make Brandon's ring."

The Texas-born singer won the Fox singing contest "American Idol" in the show's debut year in 2002. Since then she has topped pop charts with her songs "Stronger," "Miss Independent," and her most recent hit "Catch My Breath." Her latest album, "Kelly Clarkson: Greatest Hits Chapter One" released on Nov. 19. The album includes 14 of her most popular and successful songs over the span of her career plus three new songs: "Catch My Breath," "Don't Rush" and "I'll Be Home For Christmas."

In the same November appearance with DeGeneres, Clarkson said she expected to get engaged to Blackstock, adding, "We will totally, probably elope." This will be Clarkson's first marriage. Blackstock has two children from a previous marriage, according to Us Weekly. The two currently live together in Nashville.

Clarkson will perform live at the VH1 "Divas" concert on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 9/8 Central. She wrote on her Twitter account, "Rehearsed for @VH1DIVAS today! Excited to see all the ladies perform tomorrow! Watch Live on @VH1. :)"

Other performers for the night include Demi Lovato, Ciara, Adam Lambert, Natasha Bedingfield, Pitbull, Miley Cyrus and Kelly Rowland, among others.
