According to a TVLine report Oliver (Stephen Amell) will really be stepping it up as concerns his role in Star City, as it might extend beyond the part he plays as vigilante.

Could Sarab Be Resuscitated In Season 4?

The show's executive producer seemed to add some fuel to the rumors about Oliver running for mayor of Star(ling) City.

"He will definitely be coming more to the fore as Oliver Queen and balancing that with his new role as the Green Arrow. He'll be bringing some light to the city. I can't say exactly how, but that's his goal," she said.

Green Lantern To Join 'Arrow' Crew In Season 4?

Last month a Comic Book report speculates Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) following in his mother's footsteps and running for mayor of Starling City in season 4 of Arrow.

This would be a huge plot twist if it were to take place; to imagine Oliver as mayor is a completely different trip. The report picked up hints from suggestions of a huge political campaign lined up for the next chapter. The publication then goes on to weigh the pros and cons of Oliver taking up the political position.

These rumors were most likely been spurred by a TVLine report in June which brought up the question of the next mayor for Starling City, but nowhere did it mention Oliver being considered for the position.

The trailer for season 4 was also recently unveiled. Fans get a first look at Oliver kicking butt in his new avatar as the Green Arrow, and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) is seen practicing action moves herself. While the two are shown sharing doemstic bliss away from Star City, in their new romantic nest, Oliver is beckoned back as the new villain Damien Darhk (Neil McDonough) wreaks havoc in the city and wants to watch it die.

It is also revealed that Starling City has been renamed in honor of Ray Palmer, who died in season 3.

Season 4 of Arrow will premiere on Oct. 7.
