On Wednesday, Hollywood Life posted a report from OK! Magazine where it was claimed that Theron may have found some solace with Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal.

Apparently, the two were spotted at a sushi restaurant where "their chemistry was obvious."

"Jake was touching [Charlize's] hand and smiling, making her laugh," a source said.

According to another insider, it seems that the two stars had mutual feelings for a while and now they can finally act upon it.

"There's always been an attraction, but the timing was never right," the insider said. "The romance is fresh, but they are having a blast so far."

If this is the case, then Theron and Gyllenhaal might be the ideal match since each one of them has admirable qualities.

While being compared to Penn, Gyllenhaal was described as "gentle, thoughtful and kind." He also apparently likes a woman who is "strong, independent and straightforward."

Penn and Theron ended their relationship a few months ago. In a report from People, the actor's daughter Dylan mentioned that her father's been doing fine since the breakup.

"He's great," Dylan said about her dad at Just Jared's Way to Wonderland Party in Los Angeles. "I saw him last night."

Penn's daughter added that despite any gossip, she never implied that she and Theron still keep in contact.

"I guess there was a comment and I was like, 'She's the best,' and that meant we are still talking," Dylan said. "I don't know."
