On Sunday, The Daily Beast shared an interview with actress Kristen Stewart who raised headlines all over the media when she and her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson started dating. But in 2012, the two called it quits yet they still manage to find their names together in news outlets.

In the interview, Stewart discussed her upcoming film Equals, a love story in the future co-starring Nicholas Hoult. Considering that Stewart dealt with her breakup from Pattinson and Hoult called it quits with actress Jennifer Lawrence, it was pretty convenient for them to be in a movie about how emotions change.

"It was incredibly painful," Stewart said of her infamous split with Pattinson. "Ugh, f---ing kill me. It was a really good time for both of us to make this movie. Not all of my friends have been through what I've been through, or what some people have tasted at a relatively-speaking young age, and we were not expected to do anything. Everything that we did was explorative, and a meditation on what we already knew."

The actress added more detail on how she and Hoult used their real-life experiences to help set the mood for this new film.

"We all felt akin by how much we've been through, and to utilize that is so scary," she said. "And to acknowledge it, reassess, and jump back into it? Usually you want to move on. But at least we could use some of that for good."
