NEW TREND ALERT: The style wathers here at Enstarz have been keeping an eye on a look that we first noticed in American Eagle ads early this spring: Men's boxers, or (men's-style boxers) on women - visible over the tops of the waistbands of their pants.

You remember - like that 2000's-esque look where you could see the top of a guys' boxers under his baggy jeans? That, but with women.

If you can't picture it, no worries - Kristen Stewart has exemplified the look - and demonstrated why the trend is catching on - at the Cannes Film Festival today.

The actress, there with her film Crimes of the Future, caught the attention of many with her understated yet bold look: A a relaxed fit pair of denim shorts and a Chanel crop top leave just enough space to reveal the chunky waistband common to men's boxers. (Hers are labeled fleur du mal, French for "bad flower.")

Kristen's effortless sense of cool sporting this style outlines exactly why the trend is in now: It's a low-effort, simple look that still looks purposefully put together - and it's tittilating in a way that dosen't really show as much skin as one might expect.

(To be fair, they're also talking about this pic from a batch of photos of her getting ready:)

Of course, Stewart isn't just getting praise for her looks: Her acting is a much larger subject of conversation, as many prepare to enjoy the festival premiere of Crimes of the Future, directed by David Kronenberg, tonight.

Also starring Lea Seydoux and Viggo Mortensen, Crimes of the Future is a film about what happens "as the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, and the body undergoes new transformations and mutations."

"Accompanied by his partner, celebrity performance artist Saul Tenser showcases the metamorphosis of his organs. Meanwhile, a mysterious group tries to use Saul's notoriety to shed light on the next phase of human evolution."

We can't wait to hear more out of Cannes to see who else is making waves - on screen, or on the red carpet!
