In a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Kevin Spacey joked that Frank Underwood actually spoke to Donald Trump when breaking the fourth wall on House of Cards.

Doug Stamper To Finally Be Killed Off In Season 4?

Colbert asked him who Frank was talking to, if it "was a close confidant because the people you are actually talking to are people on a ten hour netflix binge."

Spacey was ready with his funny response.

New Characters To Threaten Frank In Season 4?

"This is the truth from the very beginning, when I am looking directly into that camera I am talking to onw person and one person only and that is Donald Trump," Spacey said. "Now it all starts to make sense."

It would be interesting if Trump's campaigning could somehow inspire a storyline in season 4 of the Netflix series.

In fact recently speculation was rife about the fact that the premiere of season 4 might be pushed back to fall in line with the 2016 presidential elections. If that were actually true, it would make sense that the political drama emulate some of the characterristics of the real election and Trump's persona perfectly fits into the rather dramatic narrative of House of Cards.

In an interview with Gotham magazine, Spacey stated that Bill Clinton had told him that most of what goes on in the show is accurate.

Spacey told the publication that Bill Clinton had told him that loved House of Cards.

The actor, who is famous for his impressions, put on his Clinton voice and told the publication about Clinton's approval of the Netflix drama: "Kevin, 99 percent of what you do on that show is real. The 1 percent you get wrong is you could never get an education bill passed that fast."

This could be added reason for the show to take inspiration from an election that might feature Hillary Clinton as a strong candidate.
