The preview for episode 3 of season 17 of Law & Order: SVU was recently revealed.

Who Is The Father Of Rollins' Child?

This episode, titled 'Transgender Bridge', is going to be a highly sensitive one as it focusses on the death of a transgender victim. The case will involve a bunch of high school kids bullying a transgender teen, and accidentally pushing him to his death.

"An act of peer pressure leads to a tragic accident," runs the voiceover.

Showrunner Teases New Romance For Olivia Benson  

As the teenagers are convicted for the crime, Rollins (Kelli Giddish) is seen expressing concern over the fact that they will be tried as adults. She is seen talking to the young boys, one of whom says he went overboard because he didn't want to seem gay in front of his friends.

In April, showrunner Warren Leight spoke with Variety and confirmed that producers were planning an episode centered on a transgender teen for the season.

"We've already started our season 17 storylines. We're doing a story about a transgender teenager," Leight said.

He went on to talk about how as we keep evolving on new issues, there are other complexities that come with this progress that need to be addressed.

"The world keeps evolving, and there are a lot of dark areas that we need to look at," Leight added.

The episode will air on Sept. 30.
