The fallout on the final phase of Khloe Kardashian's divorce with Lamar Odom is still playing out on E!’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

To add insult to injury, Odom’s best friend Jamie Sangouthai passed away while the Kardashians and Jenners were taping the show. Viewers might remember that Sangouthai made several appearances on the show as Odom’s friend and even on his and Kardashian’s spinoff Khloe & Lamar.

But of course when Kardashian and Odom went their separate ways, Sangouthai fell back as well. Still, that didn’t stop Kardashian from feeling some type of sympathy for her then estranged husband.

“This is just really upsetting,” Kardashian told cameras. She also made it clear that she had been in contact with Odom since the tragic news and said how he was dealing with it.

[“Lamar’s] distraught and devastated. Lamar has suffered so much loss in his life.”

Despite their differences and Kardashian filing for divorce in December of 2013 following allegations that Odom was struggling with drug addiction and even infidelity, Kardashian said, “I’m always gonna be there for Lamar, especially when something as tragic as this happens.”

She was hoping that Sangouthai’s passing wouldn’t cause Odom to relapse.

“That’s the last thing I want for him right now.”

You might remember in headlines that Sangoutha passed away back on June 14 after suffering a tragic bacterial skin infection.
