Last night’s episode of Empire was so much for viewers to handle! Now one of the showrunners is giving the details on some of the craziest story lines.

‘Empire’ Ratings Still On The Decline

From Tiana getting attacked by a mob of people who pretended to be her fans to Cookie’s “Lyon Dyansty” being put in danger; and of course we can’t forget Hakeem getting kidnapped — the episode was one cliffhanger after another.

As far as whether Lucious and Thirsty were in on Hakeem’s kidnapping, Ilene Chaiken told Variety early Thursday, “Well, I think you’ll have to wait until episode six to find out.”

Chaiken added, “It’s got a trade term — it’s called a snatch-and-grab. It happens in the music business, in all kinds of celebrity business, but particularly in the hip-hop business. It really is the story in episode six, but the issue of whether or not Lucious and Thirsty have something to do with it is key to the story.”

She also spoke on if the new dynamic duo was also connected to Tiana’s attack.

“Lucious may or may not be connected to what happens to Tiana because these are things that happened in hip-hop, and Lucious gets covered from that a lot. Lucious isn’t necessarily telling Thirsty. Just as he didn’t in episode two to beat up that guy in the garage and ‘get my laptop back.’ Thirsty just knew that’s what he had to do to get in Lucious’ good graces. This is who Thirsty is. Thirsty’s a fixer.”

When it comes to Cookie, we also get to know a little more about her new love in episode six Chaiken said they’re both “intrigued” and clearly into each other. But we all know Cookie is extremely particular when it comes to the men that she’s dating.
