Michael Shannon Reveals How His 'Man Of Steel' Character Will Figure into 'Batman v Superman'

David S. Goyer, who co-wrote Batman v Superman with Chris Terrio, recently spoke to Collider about seeing a cut of the film and how it brought back childhood memories.

"I think just the kind of giddiness in being a kid that grew up going to the comic book store every Saturday and reading comic books in which these two epic characters clashed," Goyer said, of his reaction to seeing the film. "Just the fact that I got to be involved in something like that is crazy. Much less that I got to be involved in two cinematic iterations of Batman is also crazy."

Is Jesse Eisenberg Not Actually Playing Lex Luthor In 'Batman v Superman'?

Goyer's mention of "two cinematic iterations" is in reference to his previous experience writing Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. Christian Bale played Batman in this trilogy while Ben Affleck takes over in Batman v Superman.

Asked if seeing Batman and Superman (Henry Cavill) face off in the new film was comparable to his feelings upon seeing Man of Steel for this first time, Goyer remained coy.

"I mean...There's some cool stuff that happens in the film, let's just leave it at that," Goyer said, cryptically.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for release in theaters on March 25, 2016.
