The Young and the Restless has been super tense with Adam's (Justin Hartley) trial occurring in Genoa City, but a verdict has finally been reached, which means the tensions can dissipate, right?

In the episode airing today, Oct. 23, Adam's guilty verdict will become known, but his sentencing will be a bit more complex as some Genoa City residents think he should suffer the fullest extent of the law like Kevin (Greg Rikaart) or they want him to be able to be forgiven so he can still be a parent to his son like Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) as reported by Soaps.

The residents are strictly on one side or the other in this situation.

It seems like Billy (Burgess Jenkins) is at least coming around to forgiving Adam since in the sneak peek clip below they are standing near each other without screaming or physically harming each other.

The episode will end on quite the cliffhanger though since someone definitely wants Adam dead so be sure to tune in to see what will happen after his sentencing.

Aside from the trial, Cane (Daniel Goddard) is still a suspect it seems.

In the sneak peek, Dylan (Steve Burton) tells Joe (Scott Elrod) to back off from Lily (Christel Khalil).

"Lily's standing by her husband," Dylan tells Joe, adding, "Do them a favor. Stay out of it."

Unfortunately Joe won't be the only one poking around. Paul (Doug Davidson) will hit Cane with a search warrant, which means Cane is probably looking more guilty than innocent.

"What's that?" Cane asks Paul in the clip, which leads to Paul explaining the Genoa City police have the right to search his home.

The Young and the Restless airs on weekdays at 12:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
