LeAnn Rimes and Brandi Glanville have feuded on Twitter in the past, but now, Rimes has turned over a new leaf.

In a new interview, the wife of Eddie Cibrian opened up about her determination to avoid drama with her husband's ex, and focus on what really matters -- Cibrian's two sons with Glanville, Mason and Jake.

"I ignore everything that [Brandi] puts up on Twitter," Rimes told Britain's Closer Magazine, via a UPI report on Tuesday. "This is real life and it's not about Twitter or a reality show. This is our life and I take being a stepmom seriously. I love the boys like they're my own and they live with us half the time."

Rimes and Cibrian were caught having an affair in 2009, nine years into the marriage of Cibrian and Glanville. The betrayal took place on the set of the couple's Lifetime movie, Northern Lights, and at the time, Rimes was married, as well.

Althought the couple didn't start off on the best note, they eventually tied the knot in 2011, and since then, they have been coparenting Mason and Jake with Cibrian's ex-wife, Glanville.

"There is a sad stigma when it comes to stepmoms and there is kind of this 'wicked stepmom' tag," Rimes continued. "There is no handbook. What it comes down to is that the kids are loved and care for."
