There's a new report that says the royal couple are willing to do just about anything to make sure that their children are well hidden from the spotlight so that they can grow up like other commoner kids their age.

According to Closer Weekly on Tuesday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have high hopes for their childhood, as they are looking to break royal tradition while keeping their family's happiness a top priority.

One royal insider told the site, "Kate and William have broken the mold when it comes to putting family before royal duties. A thoroughly modern couple, they split parenting duties and work at creating as nurturing a household as possible."

Prince William and his brother Prince Harry were raised under the watchful eye of their grandmother Queen Elizabeth who made sure that they followed her strict protocol when it came to their royal duties and expectations.

The Duchess though, wants a life for her kids that is far from what her husband experienced. What's more, she also hopes that her husband continues to be a hands-on parent for as long as possible, too.

The insider added, "What Kate and William want is a normal life for George and Charlotte. They want their children to grow up with shared parenting rather than the old-fashioned royal way of having nannies raising the children."
