There's a real reason why we don't hear Kate Middleton speak very often. There's a new report that says the Duchess hates making speeches because she simply has a fear of public speaking. Even though her royal duties require her to make public appearances, many critics have often wondered why the Duchess has remained silent over the years and why she doesn't do as many television interviews as her husband, Prince William, and his brother, Prince Harry.

Kate Middleton, Prince William News: Why Is The Royal Couple Meeting With Facebook?

According to The Daily Beast on Monday, the Duchess has only done one in-depth interview in her life back in 2011, and has since then remained relatively quiet. Now, her critics are saying it's time she speaks up but close friends in Middleton's inner circle say that she's scared of embarrassing herself and worse, Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the royal family.

The site said, "After her visible nerves during the 2012 hospice speech, another public speech did not follow until almost a year later, when in April 2013, she recorded a message at Clarence House in support of Children's Hospice Week. Her delivery was stilted and at times a little wooden."

The site also added that Prince William and Prince Harry have done much of the leg work for her, as she's chosen to remain in the shadows, which is definitely not going to help her win over her critics anytime soon.

The Daily Beast added, "There has been nothing from Kate compared to the kinds of interviews that William and Harry have done in recent years, being interviewed at length about their life and causes. Even the Queen has been more forthcoming than Kate on camera."
