According to TMZ's report, Lil Boosie's Instagram announcement caught his team off guard, and for unknown reasons, they weren't happy that he revealed his condition. In turn, the rapper deleted his caption just 30 minutes after it was posted, but left the accompanying photo (which can be seen above) on his account.

Following news of Lil Boosie's cancer announcement, Hollywood Life shared details about what the rapper has been up to since he was released from prison in 2014 (he served time after being convicted on a drug charge).

"After his release in March, he told reporters that he was planning on releasing a new album soon, as he wrote over 1,000 song while in prison," the site reported. "At the time, Lil Boosie said he had listened to some of today’s rap music and believed the industry was 'wide open' for him to jump back in and become one of today’s most relevant rap stars."
