Hasbro is best known for their toys like the Transformers action figurines. However, in a bold and innovative step, the tech company recently launched their latest invention: The robotic Pet Cat.

In the recent tech news roundup by BBC, the cat is pretty close to the real thing. "The cat will meow in various different ways, depending on how it's interacted with," said Ted Fischer, Hasbro's vice president for business development. The company calls it the "VibraPurr" technology. It rolls and purrs when petted and stoked. "It's a very calming kind of feeling as it's sitting on your lap," he said.

The Pet Cat, which comes in orange tabby, silver, and creamy white, is primarily designed for the elderly although we're betting its market will expand to kids and well, those who like cats but don't like cleaning up.
