“Little House on the Prairie” actress Melissa Gilbert is engaged to Timothy Busfield, a rep for Gilbert, 48, confirmed to People on Tuesday, saying, “They are engaged and both are incredibly happy,”

A source told the magazine the couple got engaged over the holidays, however, Us Weekly reported that the couple celebrated their engagement on Monday at the Beverly Hills eatery Mr. Chow. 

Gilbert has two children and the Busfield has three children. It will be the third marriage for both.

Gilbert was married to Bo Brinkman from 1988 to 1992 and the actress’ second marriage to Bruce Boxleitner ended after 16 years in 2011. Rob Lowe, Tom Cruise, John Cusack and Scott Baio have all been romantically linked to Gilbert. She dated Rob Lowe as a teen and their relationship lasted six years.

Busfield was married to actress' Radha Delmarter and Jenny Meriwen. Busfield’s marriage to Meriwen ended in 2007 after 20 years together.

Gilbert, 48, was a famous child star in the 1970’s and landed the role of Laura Ingalls on “Little House on the Prairie.” Busfield, 55, acted on television shows such as “Law and Order” and “Blue Bloods,” and scripted episodes for both “Damages,” “Lipstick Jungle” and “Without a Trace.”

In 2010 Gilbert joined ABC's reality dancing competition “Dancing with the Stars.” On the show she partnered up with Maxim Chmerkovskiy and the couple finished in fifth place. Gilbert was eliminated from the show along with Roshon Fegan. She described her time on the series as "a learning and growing experience" and "a real blessing and a joy." 

"I'm amazed that I even made it this far, and the things that I was able to do and the things that were able to overcome to have been here on this day," she said at the time.
