Series creator Joseph Mallozzi spent many years as an executive producer for Star Gate SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis, and SGU Stargate Universe, and even though he has since moved on to Dark Matter, Mallozzi still keeps his former casts in mind.

Jodelle Ferland (Five) and David Hewlett (Talbor) both had turns in the Stargate world, and the pair will be reunited with another member of the SG family as season 2 gets underway.

"Today was the first day/episode for THIS Stargate alum who I'd been wanting to cast since early last season. In retrospect, it turned out for the best because I can't imagine anyone else playing this character. In fact, when I created the character, I did so with THIS performer in mind," Mallozzi teased over the weekend. "Who am I talking about? Well, you'll have to wait for the press release coming your way next week."

Could the showrunner be referring to a character named Devon? Mallozzi didn't say whether or not the newbie is male or female, so for the meantime, fans will just have to sit tight.
