VH1’s Love & Hip Hop New York star Mendeecees Harris has been sentenced to eight years in prison for his role in a drug ring. Now he's shared a special message for his daughter, Skylar, before he turns himself in.

Mendeecees’ wife Yandy Smith gave birth to their first daughter together almost a year ago. So it’s no secret that he will miss many crucial moments in her life.

But one thing he did was give Skylar a love letter via a video on VH1.

Mendeecees, who is also the father of three boys, started by telling Skylar that she is what he “always prayed for” and revealed he “always wanted a girl first.”

He added, “There is no man on earth who will love you like I love you…And protect you. I just want the best for you. I wanna be everything you need me to be to you in your life…”

He went on to commend Yandy for being “the perfect role model” for Skylar to look up to.

“If you turn out to be half of your mother I would be so grateful. I love what your mother stands for. She’s a woman of class…Hopefully you’ll pick up the traits of your mom…”

He continued and said, “I might not be here with you at the moment and it’s against my will.”

He ended with, “Hopefully one day I can make it right. I love you. Love, your dad.”
