Following the sale of their home, which many took as a sign they were headed for a split, Madden has surfaced in Los Angeles, where he recently did some Christmas shopping without his wife, and without his wedding ring.

"Joel Madden was spotted Christmas shopping for his kids in Beverly Hills, but forgot one very important thing for the trip… His wedding ring," reported Radar Online on Wednesday.

In addition, claimed the site, Richie was spotted without her ring just days prior.

In August of this year, after Richie and Madden sold their family home in Los Angeles, rumors began swirling regarding Madden's alleged flirtation with Jessie J. According to an OK! Magazine report, via Classicalite, Madden and Jessie J were getting too close for comfort on the set of Australia's The Voice.

"Joel and Jessie are very flirty behind the scenes," a source told the magazine. "She enjoys teasing him and he gives as good as he gets. Nicole is very upset. She demanded Joel steer clear of Jessie, but he accused her of overacting...It's caused a few fights between them."

Meanwhile, Madden's brother, Benji, and his wife, Cameron Diaz, have reportedly been begging the couple to make their marriage work.

“Cam has persuaded Nicole to stop her divorce proceedings for now,” an insider told Life & Style, via Radar Online. “Ever since Cam got married, Nicole’s been turning to her for advice. Benji loves Nicole and Joel and thinks they can work it out.”
