The truth is out there, and The X-Files may continue to search for it long after the six-episode revival is through.

'X-Files' Return: Mythology To Get A Shake Up, New Conspiracy Theory Sends Mulder For A Loop

Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) will dive back into the paranormal this winter, and Duchovny is open to keeping the mysteries coming well into the future.

"I don't see why not," the actor said when asked if he was interested in continuing with the X-Files miniseries format.

Duchovny did have one caveat, and it is a concern that is shared by series creator Chris Carter as well.

"We don't want to just make more episodes because we can. I'm not interested in that. And I don't think Chris is interested in that," Duchovny told TV Line. "If Chris is re-inspired to start thinking about where to take the show and the characters next I'm sure we'd all listen."

In the meantime, X-Files fans will be treated to a six-episode 10th season starting on Jan. 24 on Fox. The short run will be book-ended by two major mythology episodes, "My Struggle" and "My Struggle: Part 2," while the middle of the season will deal with stand-alone monster-of-the-week storylines.
