The 57-year-old talk show host was named Favorite Humanitarian at the 2016 People’s Choice Award, and her acceptance speech is not only funny, but was also inspirational.

"I started out as a comedian, and I wanted to make people laugh," the TV host said in her rousing speech. "I wanted to make people happy and feel good."

According to Entertainment Tonight, the comedian dished out in her own hilarious way the oddity of receiving an award for human kindness and all she could wish for is the love we have for one another.

"It is strange to get an award for being nice and generous and kind which is what we're all supposed to do with one another," she thought. "That's the point of being a human."

"Would I call myself the Mother Theresa of talk shows? The Dalai Llama of daytime?" DeGeneres jokingly added. "No. But I'm sure someone has."

"I read an amazing quote recently: 'What if there was no such thing as love, just proof of love?' I don't know if it was from the Bible or Instagram but it was very powerful to me," she said. "I want everyone to know we all really really love one another and we need to get back to that. We need more of that right now in the world. That is what most of us feel."

And after she ended her inspirational speech, in the spirit of giving, she ended her speech with the greatest gift all: a shirtless photo of Chris Hemsworth.

DeGeneres also shared on her Twitter account, thanking everyone for their support and what she could do to help and encourage other people’s lives.
