Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Hudson and others performed at the Academy Awards on Feb. 24 in a tribute to the revival of big-screen musicals during the last decade.

The performance included Hugh Jackman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Les Miserables actors Amanda Seyfried, Helena Bonham Carter, Eddie Redmayne, Aaron Tveit and Samantha Banks.

R&B singer Hudson won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2007 for her role in Dreamgirls. Zeta-Jones won the same award for Chicago in 2003 and she starred in the musical film Rock of Ages that came out in 2012. Crowe won an Oscar for Best Actor in 2001 for his lead role in the drama Gladiator. Though he is not nominated this year, the film he starred in, Les Miserables, is up for eight Oscars including Best Picture.

The tribute began with Zeta-Jones performing a revival scene from Chicago, followed by Hudson taking to the stage to perform a song from Dreamgirls before the cast of Les Miserables performed together.

Performers at the Academy Awards included Adele, Shirley Bassey, Norah Jones and Barbara Streisand. Adele performed her Oscar-nominated song Skyfall from the James Bond film with the same name and the United Kingdom native already won a Golden Globe and BRIT Award for the song. Jones performed the Oscar-nominated song Everybody Needs a Best Friend from the film Ted.

Streisand's performance was only the second time she has sung at the awards show, according to CBS News, and Bassey made her Oscars debut in a special tribute honoring the 50th anniversary of the Bond film series.
