HTC One X owners are frustrated with AT&T over the wait for an update to the Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system.

The new version of the Android firmware was already released by the manufacturers but AT&T is still in the process of certifying the software before it is released to customers. Android owners expressed their frustration on the growing AT&T's forum for the HTC One X.

The issue was addressed by an AT&T forum community manager Jamileh who talked about why the upgrade was delayed. One of the members of the forum asked why the certification process is taking a long time and Jamileh responded with the following:

"Seriously though, I bug the teams incessantly but like me, they don't want to commit to anything that might end up getting pushed back because that's a difficult situation. There is A LOT that goes into certifying an update though. It takes time."

HTC first released the Jelly Bean OS back in October of l2012 and since then a number of carriers around the world have rolled out the new operating system to the One X, but customers of AT&T are still waiting, according to AutooMobile.

HTC also recently unveiled its new HTC One smartphone, which will launch on March 15 for AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.

The HTC One comes with a 4.7-inch 1080p HD screen with a whopping 468 pixels per inch (ppi). It also offers a 4MP camera with UltraPixel technology that uses enhanced imaging sensors to capture 300 percent more light for better pictures, according to The Times of India.

The powerful handset packs a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon, a 2,300mAh battery in the tank, 2GB of RAM and at least 32GB of storage. Apple's device only packs an A6 processor with a speed of at 1.3GHz, 1G of RAM and a 1440mAh battery. It can also capture 1080p HD video.

The HTC One will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean straight out of the box. The handset also uses the new Sense 5 that includes a personalized news stream on the home screen called BlinkFeed.
