A large construction crane collapsed on Worth Street in Manhattan's TriBeCa neighborhood Friday morning, killing one and injuring several others.

The Bay Crane, which was being put into a secure position due to wind conditions from a winter storm affecting the area, fell onto several parked vehicles between West Broadway and Hudson Streets. Since the crane fell, reports have also surfaced of a natural gas leak in the area that may have been caused by the collapse.

The crane was reportedly stationed at 40 Worth Street, and due to efforts to clean up the scene, the MTA has rerouted subway trains to bypass nearby stops.

Several people who witnessed the fall have since taken to social media to share photos and videos of the collapse, showing a street severely impacted by the crane, cars smashed beneath it, and debris on the road as well, with snow continuing to fall on the area.
