A date has been announced for Reign's return with new episodes.

'Reign' Star Says There Are 'So Many Stories To Tell'

On Thursday, TV Line announced that the royal drama will be back on The CW on Monday, April 25 at 8 p.m. ET. It will be taking the spot of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which ends its first season one week prior.

Considering that Reign will be back on Mondays, perhaps that might boost its ratings since it was on television on Fridays. And if ratings rise, that might create better chances for a renewal once the third season ends.

Chatter On Mary's Banishment On 'Reign'

Fans can definitely expect some more intriguing moments to take place based on what Megan Follows (who plays Catherine on the series) told TV Line. Even though Francis was killed off, the story doesn't end there.

"Toby [Regbo who played Francis] was an amazing player, and we were all really sad although it was time for the story--he knew that," Follows said. "What's fantastic about our show is that we've really embraced change and grown; there are so many stories to tell."

The actress then mentioned how she's been wanting to direct an episode and her dream finally came true.

"I started pestering them pretty much right away, saying, 'I want to do this. I want to do this,'" she said. "They were very supportive and said I needed to shadow the other directors, so I learned a tremendous amount that way. I was also directing a play at the same time. I wanted to show them that I was serious."
