Sean Lowe proposed to Catherine Giudici during The Bachelor season 17 finale on Monday's episode. After the episode aired on March 11, the couple have announced that they wil wait until after they are married to have sex.

Lowe, 29, is a conservative Christian and born-again virgin, explained why he made the decision to wait until their special day to consummate.

"From my perspective, I've lived life kind of selfishly for a long time," Lowe told People. "Now, I'm going to try to live it the way I know to be right."

Giudici is in agreement with him and respects the choice.

"I honor him," she said.

Lowe admitted that if it was up to him he would get married right away because he has found the perfect partner in Giudici.

"I'm a guy. I'd go to the courthouse tomorrow if she'd let me," Lowe said. "We just fit so well together. We both know it's right."

The couple taped the episode nearly three months ago and could not contain their excitement about finally being able to not hide their relationship until the episode aired on March 11.

"I'm just so excited that the secret is out," Lowe said.

"Now, we can be a normal couple and hold hands in public!" Giudici added.

Rowe, a Texas insurance agent, proposed to Giudici, a Seattle resident, with a gorgeous Neil Lane sparkler in Thailand. After she accepted his proposal, Giuidici added, "today is the best day of my life."

Giudici posted a close-up picture of her Neil Lane engagement ring on Instagram with the caption "Rock. Part Three."

The couple appeared on LIVE! With Kelly and Michael and Good Morning America on Tuesday, March 12 to discuss their upcoming wedding plans.

The pair announced they will tie the knot on a televised special for ABC. An insider revealed the couple are planning a winter wedding set for later this year.

Lowe also announced on GMA that he is the surprise contestant on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars. Another Bachelor star, Jake Pavelka, danced on Stars during season 10.
