American Idol contestant Candice Glover took to the stage Wednesday night for a R&B rendition of what Jordin Sparks sang in season six of the show: I (Who Have Nothing).

The top 10 performed live for the first time in front of viewers and the contestants took on "Music of American Idol" as their theme, meaning they had to do any song recorded or performed by a former Idol winner.

Nicki Minaj commented on the Glover's performance by saying, "It would be in everybody's best interest to never, ever perform that song ever again."

Randy Jackson added, "This was one of the greatest performances on the show this Season 12 of Idol. That was incredible."

The 23-year-old South Caroline native earned a ticket to Hollywood on season 9 and season 11 of the show but it was not until this year that she made it to the top 10. She was cut in the Las Vegas rounds last year but continued to perform at bars and weddings.

When American Idol season 12 held auditions in Charlotte, NC., Glover told Wetpaint it was "like God put that audition" there and she "didn't have a choice but to go."

As a part of this season's top 20 in the semi-finals rounds, she performed Ordinary People by John Legend and impressed the judges. Randy Jackson said she possibly had the best voice in the whole competition.

Also on Wednesday, Curtis Finch Jr. sang I Believe, Devin Valez sang Temporary Home, Angie Miller sang I Surrender and Paul Jolley sang Amazed. A total of three Kelly Clarkson songs were performed on Wednesday night, with Lazaro Arbos singing a rendition of Breakaway, Amber Holcomb singing A Moment Like This and also Miller's performance.

American Idol airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8/7 p.m. Central on Fox.
