The synopsis for the next episode of Season 11 of Criminal Minds has been revealed and Joe Mantegna has directed this one.

Mantegna, who plays David Rossi on the series, is helming this episode which will deal with a case of child abductions. The episode, aptly titled 'The Sandman,' will deal with a criminal who kidnaps children while their parents are asleep.

Here's the official synopsis:

Showrunner 'Absolutely Wants' Jane Lynch Back In Season 11  

"The BAU heads to Wichita in search of an UnSub abducting children while their parents sleep. Also, Morgan tries to find who was responsible for his attack."

In a recent interview, showrunner Erica Messer dished about 'The Sandman' being the first part of the special 250th episode of the series.

Messer spoke to TVLine about the episode revealing little details about it. The first part/episode, titled 'The Sandman,' will be directed by Joe Mantegna and written by Bruce Zimmerman.

"It's pretty brutal but it's amazing," Messer said. "And it's got a great cliffhanger element to take us into [Episode] 251."

The report also reveals that episode 251, titled 'A Beautiful Disaster,' will be directed by Matthew Gray Gubler.

'The Sandman' will air on March 16.
