The first elimination night for ABC's Dancing With The Stars took a responsible, yet sad turn on March 26.

The celebrities who were in jeopardy of being booted off were former Olympian Dorothy Hamill, boxing champion Victor Ortiz, reality star Lisa Vanderpump and comedian Andy Dick.

Yet after Hamill was told she was safe to stay, she eliminated herself. Hamill, who has been suffering from a cyst in her lower back, said a spinal doctor suggested that she stop dancing to heal herself because she could cause irreparable damage.

"I wish I could give it my all but I can't" she said, teary eyed. "it's been a wonderful ride and I wish I could stay," she added, and said that she can't put in the commitment she would like.

Hamill recently said she wouldn't leave the show unless she was eliminated.

"I made the commitment to do the show and I love it. And as long as I'm not doing anything to make things worse, I want to continue," she said, according to seattlepi.com.

Comedian D.L. Hughley, who was in last place, was saved on the show and said he and his partner, Cheryl Burke, went from being "Bobby and Whitney" to the "couple from Silver Lining's."

In the start of the show, Zendaya Coleman and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy were voted via Twitter to perform an encore of their Monday night jive performance.

Icona Pop and Josh Groban also performed on the show. For April 1, the celebrity performances will be prom themed.
