What happened to Tyra Banks on "Dancing With the Stars"? Was she fired, or did she just quit the show?

In an interview with The Sun, a source said that the controversial presenter would most likely not be returning to the hit dance reality program for the next season.

The shocking decision comes as the show prepares to transition from television to the streaming platform Disney+, which will result in Tyra being left behind.

The insider said that there hasn't been an official decision on who would host the program next season as of yet, but that it's virtually clear that the "America's Next Top Model" presenter will not be returning, "which would be a network decision, not her choice," according to the source.

Announcing its departure from ABC after 30 seasons of television, "DWTS" will move to its sister streaming site. It also garnered incredibly poor ratings and a huge amount of negative feedback due to the presence of Tyra Banks as the host.

In addition, the program has already been extended for two more seasons, and it will be the first live show to air on Disney+.

However, according to the source, the poor ratings are not due to the competition, but rather to the manner in which it was presented.

"Production has been a disaster, with no clear direction of where [the program] was headed, which is why several producers have been fired in recent months," they revealed.

Despite the fact that last year's season was deemed a success, it was apparently watched by a record-low number of people.

According to the insider, "the combination of behind-the-scenes instability and historically poor ratings proved to be the last nail in the coffin" for the show.

"ABC didn't think it was worth the investment any more, but they didn't want to abandon the project completely."

Tyra Banks Dragged By Brooke Burke

Meanwhile, Brook Burke, a former "Dancing With the Stars" co-host, slammed Tyra Banks, labeling her a "diva" and claiming that "everyone knows it," during an interview with the "Behind The Velvet Rope" podcast.

Brooke said that there was nothing wrong with being diva and that she was not implying anything negative about Tyra, but she did claim that she was a diva and that "DWTS" was not the place for her to be one.

Brooke won the seventh season of the program with Derek Hough, and subsequently began co-hosting the tenth season with Tom Bergeron, and continued until the sixteenth season.

She went on to say that she believes the supermodel went through a "difficult adjustment" when she was asked to take over for long-time hosts Tom and Erin Andrews for seasons 29 and 30 of the show.
