Is this true love or just another set up by two very clever publicists? That's what fans can't help but wonder as Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton continue to endlessly show their affection for each other in public.

According to People Magazine on Friday, both Shelton and Stefani changed their Twitter profile pics of throwback photos of each other from their childhood. And while it's yet another proclamation of their love for each other, some fans are questioning the authenticity of their relationship.

Some comments from readers include, "She and Blake are acting like disgusting teenagers. This relationship is so fake. They act like idiots who can't be alone," along with, "I just don't get why this is cute or news worthy. There doesn't seem like much going on between Gwen and Blake so Gwen manufactures something to keep them in the news."

Another fan managed to defend the couple by writing, "Actually it's not fake. That's what real love looks like. I feel sorry for those of you who haven't experienced that! I think they are cute together. Hope it lasts."

Shelton pulled the plug on his marriage to Miranda Lambert last summer. A few weeks after their divorce announcement, Gwen went public with the news that she too was splitting up with her husband of ten years, Gavin Rossdale. The couple started dating in October and have been inseparable since.

So far, the couple has not made any comments about the criticism.
