Captain America: Civil War will have to call in a tiebreaker.

Team Iron Man and Team Cap are peppered with Avengers, superheroes who have direct ties to the Battle of New York, the Hydra debacle in DC, and Ultron's brief reign of terror. Each of these heroes has an obviously biased view towards the Sokovia Accords, so Civil War will bring in a fresh pair of eyes in the form of Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman).

"We wanted someone who wasn't on either side," Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige told Entertainment Weekly. "We wanted someone who could represent a third party in the argument, which in the original comics he did a little bit."

As it turns out, Black Panther isn't quite as unbiased as viewers were initially led to believe. Outside of his desire for government control over powered individuals, the heir to Wakanda will have a "very personal" reason for teaming up against Captain America (Chris Evans) and the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan). Comic book readers might have an inkling of what's really going on, but, for now, the cast is keeping the story under wraps.

"We thought it would be interesting if we could find somebody who didn't side necessarily either way, except for this very personal thing that happens to him--which is the only reason he's really aligned in this argument at all," Feige teased.

Some could argue that Spidey (Tom Holland) or Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) could fill this role as easily as T'Challa. Ant-Man, however, is a clear choice for Team Cap due to his anti-authority tendencies. Meanwhile, it's rumored that Spider-Man will be something of Iron Man's protege, a role that would clearly sway his opinion on the brewing conflict.
