There's still no word from the show itself about which fan favorite character met the business end of Negan's baseball bat on the season 6 finale of The Walking Dead, but a new casting announcement for one of the show's actors could potentially hint that his character was the one who got his head bashed in.

Steven Yeun, who portrays Glenn Rhee on the show, has been cast in a new movie, which could hint that the television character did meet the fate that was given to him in the comics-and he will be revealed as the victim when season seven picks up in October.

According to reports, Yeun has joined the cast of the sci-fi movie Okja, a movie about a girl who befriends the titular character, a genetically manufactured pig, who is kidnapped by the corporation that created him, forcing the girl to retrieve him. It is unclear what role Yeun is playing, though the film is already in production in Seoul with his co-stars, Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhaal and Paul Dano already on set. With The Walking Dead set to resume production on May 2, it could be a scheduling conflict for Yeun.

However, Hitfix points out that the movie doesn't necessarily mean Yeun won't be back for the show, and that Glenn is definitely dead. Sine he was cast after production already began, there's a good change that Yeun could have just a small role in the film, and since some production is slated for the U.S. and Canada, he could wind up still keeping fairly local during filming,

However, the announcement does give some reason to wonder if Yeun's character is the one who was tragically killed off so horribly. Most fans have speculated that the character killed off would be Glenn, with the two most likely other candidates floated out there being Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz).

The only characters who are mainly considered safe are Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Carl (Chandler Riggs), whom Negan referred to when he was about to bash his victim's head in.

The Walking Dead returns in October.
