Speculation that drugs were connected in the untimely death of iconic singer Prince has gone to new heights as authorities get involved.

Officials have been granted a search warrant for Prince's Minnesota estate in Carver County, Paisley Park Studios, amid speculation that he abused drugs just days before his death on April 21, TMZ reported Wednesday.

Apparently they wanted to search the house to see if they would come across any sign of drugs or any abuse of them, including prescription drugs, in hopes of finding out what really led to his death. While an autopsy was performed Friday that said there was no hint of the passing being related to suicide, it looks like authorities still want answers. Interestingly enough, Prince's body was cremated and laid to rest in a private and very small ceremony Saturday. Word of the service didn't even spread until after it was over.

While word of the warrant has been released, the sheriff's office wants to keep its details under wraps while the investigation continues as too much information about it too early could harm the case and authorities' potential to solve it.

The site adds, "premature disclosure of the details provided in the search warrant and its accompanying documents may compromise this law enforcement investigation by causing the search or related searches to be unsuccessful."

The documents have been ordered to stay sealed for six months; unless a criminal investigation begins in the matter. But the likelihood of that seems pretty slim. Be sure to keep up with Enstars for more.
