Boy Meets World's Eric Matthews has uttered the Feeny call for the last time.

Cory's (Ben Savage) brother paid a visit to his niece and nephew in season 2, and the quirky character gifted his signature line to Riley (Rowan Blanchard) in the process. Off screen, Will Friedle (Eric) did the same, handing over the Feeny call to Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter (Maya).

Friedle explained his decision at Toronto ComiCon, likening it to his experience taking over the Lion-O reins from ThunderCats voice actor Larry Kenney.

"So, here's the thing about the Feeny call. When I started to do ThunderCats, Larry Kenney said to me, 'You're Lion-O now, so I'm handing you the ThunderCats code. This is yours now. Once I give it to you, I won't do it ever again,'" Friedle said. "So when the girls had to do the Feeny call in Girl Meets World, I said to them, 'I'm passing it to you. It's yours now. I won't do it ever again."

And the cycle continues...

That's not to say we'll never see Eric again. Senator Matthews is busy with his new political career, but Girl Meets World will hopefully bring Riley's uncle back to New York City as season 3 unfolds.

"There's some future possibilities that we may be able to see what Senator Eric Matthews is up to," Friedle teased while listing his upcoming projects, which include continuing on as the voice of Star-Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy animated series.

Riley and Maya, meanwhile, will spend the upcoming season adjusting to freshman year. High School is a bold new adventure for the teens, and it won't be without its own unique set of challenges.
