The Librarians have a new adversary.

Ugly Betty's Vanessa Williams will become the face of evil once more as Flynn Carsen (Noah Wyle) and his fellow Librarians return for season 3.

Someone is looking to capture the Librarians and take over their secret treasure trove of knowledge, and that someone is the Department of Statistical Anomalies or DSOA for short. Williams will portray the DSOA's leader, General Rockwell, according to Variety.

Described as the "tough, brilliant head of the top secret, black ops secret government agency," Rockwell is well aware that Eve (Rebecca Romijn), Jake (Christian Kane), Cassandra (Lindy Booth), Ezekiel (John Kim) and Jenkins (John Larroquette) don't spend their days cataloging and hushing rambunctious patrons. More often than not, they're the ones causing the ruckus.

Sci-fi governments have a penchant for weaponizing any magical/advanced technologies they can get their paws on, and you can only imagine the destruction the DSOA could cause should they take this well-trodden path. After all the hard work Flynn and Co. put into securing the world's most dangerous artifacts, they're definitely going to want to beef up security.

"The show will be a bit scarier, with a little bit higher stakes to put more pressure on the characters and how they handle things," showrunner Dean Devlin said of season 3. Considering the premiere is titled "And the Rise of Chaos," we're not surprised.

Principal photography kicked off Monday in Portland. Check the first set photos:
