The next episode of ABC's Once Upon a Time will be a tearjerker for fans, based on what co-creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz are saying.

The co-creators/showrunners spoke with Entertainment Tonight recently about the upcoming episode, titled "Last Rites" and how it will serve as a conclusion to the Hades (Greg Germann) storyline.

"This weekend, in a lot of ways, is like the finale to the Hades arc," Kitsis teased. "I think that you are going to see a lot of the characters going through some really heavy and emotional situations."

The promo for this week's episode also shows the citizens of Storybrooke mourning at a funeral, suggesting that someone very important to the town will die. Kitsis discussed how fans will be feeling in this episode.

"I think this weekend will break a lot of hearts and will also give some people hope," he said. "It's going to be everything. Everything you expect from a finale, so this is just the beginning of a three-episode, all-killer, no-filler season-ender."

Many fans are desperately hoping for Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) to be reunited in Storybrooke, and while the co-creators would not say whether this would go down, they did say that this will be resolved either way in this episode.

"I will say that question gets answered this weekend," Kitsis said. "So they only just have to watch this Sunday night to have their questions answered."

Kitts's and Horowitz also discussed what fans on the internet are already saying about the possibility of Emma losing Hook completely.

"That's what they're saying on the Internet," Kitsis said with a laugh. Horowitz added, "Yeah, I'm looking on my Twitter feed right now and I'm seeing a lot of emotional fans."

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
