Nvidia has unveiled the latest in its powerful line of graphics cards, and from what could be seen for far, the firm's latest entries are jaw-droppingly awesome. During an event in Austin, Texas on Friday, Nvidia unveiled the Geforce GTX 1080 and 1070, two new graphics cards that just set the bar very high for this generation's gaming hardware.

Apart from the fact that the two new cards are created using the most formidable cutting-edge technologies of today, there are very practical compelling reasons why the GTX 1080 and 1070 are very clear winners in today's gaming market. In fact, though the devices have not been released to the public yet, their specs and reveal are so impressive, hardware enthusiasts were immediately endeared.

Thus, if your PC is running, say the GTX 980 or even the company's previous flagship, the Titan X, this might very well be the time to upgrade your hardware. Here are three reasons why the GTX 1080 and 1070 are compelling upgrades to all gaming enthusiasts.

The GTX 1080 and 1070 Are Ridiculously Fast

Prior to the release of the 1080 and 1070, the Titan X reigned as the firm's graphics card to beat. Well, Nvidia gladly announced that the GTX 1080, and even the more affordable and scaled-down GTX 1070, are both hands-down more potent than the Titan X. To firm demonstrated the power of the new cards by playing Doom at 1080p resolution with all the graphics properties maxed out. The result is a highly impressive 200 frames per second.

So, yes, the GTX 1080 and the GTX 1070 are just that fast.

The GTX 1080 and 1070 are Downright Scary When Overclocked

For the GTX 1080 and 1070, Nvidia made it a point to design the cards with much headroom for overclocking. After all, the gaming world right now is heading towards the era of virtual reality, and it is pretty common knowledge to know that VR requires a lot of power. In a demo featuring Paragon, Nvidia overclocked the GTX 1080 to a ridiculous 2114MHz.

Oh, and the card remained cool during the entire period too, peaking at just 67 degrees Celsius.

The GTX 1080 and 1070 are Priced Aggressively

For such ridiculous power, Nvidia is actually offering the hardware at a pretty reasonable price. The GTX 1080, which will be launched pn May 27, would be priced at $700 for the special Founder's Edition and $600 for the regular model. The GTX 1070, which is set to launch on June 10, is priced even more aggressively, starting at just $380 for the standard edition and $450 for the special Founder's Edition.

Keep in mind that the GTX 1070 far outpunches the Titan X. For its price, it's a downright bargain.

With these two beasts being unveiled the next few weeks will be very exciting for the so-called PC Master Race.
