Andy Rubin’s Essential Phone To Get Android Oreo Update Soon Along With Other Devices

Andy Rubin's Android smartphone which has been regarded as one of the highly anticipated Android devices this year will get an Android Oreo update soon. It can be recalled that the said device has been running Android Nougat and this news was confirmed by the executives of the company themselves.

Last Thursday, Geeky Gadgets reported that Andy Rubin together with these officials ran a Reddit AMA and they answered a lot of questions about the software and hardware of the device also regarding add-ons. Aside From Rubin, some key officials of Essentials also joined in the AMA including Dave Evans, VP of Design, Linda Jiang, Head of Industrial Design; Joe Tate, VP of Hardware; Rebecca Zavin, VP of Software.

With regards to the Android Oreo update, an executive from the company revealed that this update will soon grace the Essential smartphones. Besides, it was also revealed that the company gave two months as an estimated time frame before the complete update and this means that the said devices will have the update by November.

With this, the user can expect the Essential smartphones to receive the Android Oreo update either in October or in November. It can be recalled that Google has already released the Android Oreo update for its compatible Pixel and Nexus devices and after that, some companies like Motorola, Nokia, OnePlus, and HTC also announced this update for their devices.

Since the Essentials smartphones will get the Android Oreo update soon, it is then expected that the devices will come with its customized UI built on the operating system. Besides, Guiding Tech reported that it will also contain a 4GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.

Moreover, it was also reported that the Essential devices are being encased in a titanium body with a ceramic back plus its Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which then covers the display. Regarding its processor, this Essential smartphone by Andy Rubin functions due to the incorporation of Qualcomm's 64-bit, octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor that is likewise supported by Adreno 540 GPU.
