Danny (Ben Mendelsohn) will appear in a few different ways in season 2 of Netflix's Bloodline.

*Spoilers through the first season of Bloodline ahead*

After John (Kyle Chandler) killed Danny in the penultimate episode of season 1, many fans were shocked to see such a major presence die seemingly so early in the show. Then there were reports that Mendelsohn was returning for season 2, which confused some viewers.

Luckily there is a new featurette courtesy of Netflix that explains just how Mendelsohn will be involved with season 2.

"In season 2, Danny comes back in flashbacks," says Norbert Leo Butz, who plays Kevin on the series.

"The other way we see Danny in season 2 is as a presence," Mendelsohn adds. "Danny appears in John's life in times of stress and starts piping up."

In many ways, the Rayburn family will be haunted by the secret of what John did to Danny, especially John himself. Butz adds that, "even if we don't physically see a ghost of Danny, there is a ghost of Danny about this far from your ear at all times."

The featurette also includes flashback scenes featuring Danny - one of the most intriguing scenes is Danny presenting drug lord Wayne Lowry (Glenn Morshower) with a cassette tape. He ominously tells Wayne, "I believe in second chances. You need to know about my brother."

It seems that danger is around the corner for the whole Rayburn family, even with the sudden arrival of Danny's son, Nolan (Owen Teague). Nolan was introduced briefly at the end of season 1, and season 2 will see him trying to integrate with the Rayburn family. Needless to say, there is some tension.

Teague talks about how Nolan has many of Danny's mannerisms, which Sally (Sissy Spacek) even comments on. Sally later confronts Nolan, asking what he wants from the Rayburns. "I don't want anything from you, Sally," Nolan responds, with some of Danny's trademark confidence.

Bloodline season 2 is slated to drop on Netflix on Friday, May 27.
