Evan Peters has essentially confirmed that he will have a part in season 6 of FX's American Horror Story.

The possibility of Peters returning for American Horror Story's sixth season has been up in the air, with vague hints that he was indeed coming back, but nothing truly confirmed.

Luckily, the actor just appeared on the red carpet for the premiere of his new movie, X-Men: Apocalypse and confirmed that he was doing season 6. The BBC Newsbeat Twitter account posted about this earlier in the week:

Peters alluded to his potential return in a Reddit AMA this week, without fully confirming his return. He said he was "definitely looking forward to the new season," but that he "can't share anything. Sorry."

American Horror Story showrunner Ryan Murphy has been unusually quiet about season 6, especially compared to past years. Fans still do not know what the concept will be, which is incredibly rare for this show. However, there have been suggestions that many of the show's regular cast members are returning.

Murphy said at PaleyFest in March that "every darling person up here that wants to come back can come back," referring to his fellow panelists Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Denis O'Hare, Matt Bomer, Wes Bentley, Finn Wittrock and Cheyenne Jackson.

"The interesting thing about this season is we've been working on two ideas at once, which we've never done," Murphy said, asked about the season 6 concept. "So I don't want to say what it maybe is.... Both things that we're writing right now-we haven't declared a winner-will have a different form, so we're excited about that. We'll talk about it soon, but we haven't landed on it yet."

However, he did suggest that both concepts feature "elements of children," adding, "If you look at horror tropes, the innocence of children, that sort of wide-eyed entryway into some world is always very dramatic and satisfying."

American Horror Story season 6 is set to air this fall on FX.
