Bonaparte is out and Renard is in. The Grimm's captain is ready to fill the vacant position of season 6's big bad.

Diana (Hannah R. Loyd) doesn't like it when you mess with her family, and the pint-sized emotional powder keg used her telekinetic powers to put the Black Claw leader in the ground. Now that there's an opening up in management, it looks as if Renard (Sasha Roiz) might take control of the Portland branch.

"Renard is going to be the big bad in Season 6," David Giuntoli (Nick) told TV Insider. "We'll focus more on him and his rise to power and what that means. I don't know this for absolute sure, but that's the word on the street."

Last we saw Renard, he was standing dumbfounded over Bonaparte's (Shaun Toub) body, clearly within striking range of everyone's favorite monster hunter. Is Nick next on his hit list? The cliffhanger left fans wondering, but Giuntoli has assured TV Line that the Nick vs. Renard issue will take center stage in the premiere.

"There's only so many ways this can go with the captain and Nick. Either we get into a huge melee, or the captain tries to somehow recruit me to his side," Giuntoli teased. "I don't see how else it could go. I'm not going to say, 'Let's deal with this later.'"

While Renard is the one left holding the sword, Nick is the one with some maniacal rage on his side. The budding politician nearly separated the Grimm from baby Kelly, and if Detective Burkhardt has one mission in life, it's to keep that little boy safe.

"He's face to face with Renard, so this could go two ways," Giuntoli told TV Insider. "Will there be a negotiation? Will Nick think this through? Or is he so furious at Renard for taking his child away that he'll just go crazy?"
